I remember there being blue skies and the token hot August weather when John & I rolled up to Dove Canyon Country Club to celebrate Garrett & Regina’s big day! :) You might have read a bit of there story from their engagement session (which you can view here)!
Regina & Garrett met in the 5th grade, but it wasn’t until they both attended college at UCR that the sparks began to fly! Regina couldn’t help but notice Garrett’s patience, while Garrett couldn’t help but take special note of her thoughtfulness (and probably her smile! ;) Haha)! They would carpool home together, and often spend time together playing basketball, hanging out, and eating, until Garrett had that “hunch” that people often get when feeling start growing!
To give you a little glimpse of Regina and Garrett, they are both two of the most thoughtful and kind people I’ve ever met! They’re also pretty darn funny! Haha! Let me pull from their engagement and share with you a little bit of what Regina said!
“Three words that describe Garrett are patient, kind, and weird (in a good way)! I have a lot of weird tendencies so being with someone who is just as weird makes me feel really comfortable. He also is one of the most patient people I have ever met and he has such a heart for others.”
It was a beautiful thing to witness and hear about their story & how God had grown them together and allowed them to really be encouragement and support for one another! :)
Let me just say before you see the next couple images… Regina looked absolutely stunning! :)
& Garrett looked oh so dapper! :) He was definitely ready to see his bride! From the words of Garrett:
“Regina looked stupendous. Garrett looked acceptable.”
I don’t think he gave himself enough credit! Haha
“I was glad to see her happy that after all the planning, the ceremony finally came to fruition.”
– Garrett
The next couple of images warm my heart because truly, it made me so happy to see Regina’s contagious laugh, and Garrett’s adoration of his beautiful bride! :)
Everyone was excited for the ceremony to begin! A couple words from Regina that made me laugh:
“I felt really awkward and embarrassed with so many people around!”
Haha! Garrett and Regina aren’t ones for much PDA, so I know this level of affection on display for hundreds of people (though their dear loved ones) was quite a challenge–but I assure you! They did great, and it was a memorable day, indeed! :)
“[My favorite part of the day was] walking down the aisle and seeing Regina smile.”
– Garrett
A job well done, Regina & Garrett! ;) & Now, onto my favorite part of the wedding day–getting to work with the bride & groom!
“I really appreciate Garrett’s patience and kind heart. He has a really big heart for others.”
– Regina
“I realized I loved my SO when we started dating for a few years. What has been really notable is that she has been loyal and supportive by my side for all these years. She has been a source of encouragement and has walked by my side”
– Garrett
As the sun quickly set, we moved in to start their reception! :)
(Round two of PDA for Regina & Garrett! Haha)
Regina picked such elegant decor!
” I took a pretty relaxed approach to wedding planning (probably a bit too relaxed in hindsight), but it all came together thanks to all the help from my mom and mother-in-law, as well as all the support from my wonderful bridesmaids, not to mention Garrett!”
– Regina
The bridal party had an impromptu dance to start off the fun night! :)
Hearing the toasts was one of my favorite parts of their wedding! It was especially great hearing the testimony of their parents as they watched Regina & Garrett’s relationship grow from silently awkward carpool rides home from UCR to saying “I do!” :)
Their reception was filled with so much laughter and joy! :)
And to end the night, their awesome DJ had this brilliant plan of getting people to the dance floor–GROUP PHOTO! :)
And boy, did it work! :)
Regina & Garrett danced the night away surrounded by their family and friends! It was such a fun night of celebration! :) John & I were so happy for our dear friends! It’s a beautiful thing to see two people have so much trust in one another because of their trust in God and His work in their other half’s life!
CONGRATULATIONS GARRETT & REGINA!! Love you guys!!
Happy Friday!
