When I finally met Brian & Kaman, it didn’t take long to see that are an absolutely beautiful couple! From the moment we met them, I could see vividly how much love and joy Brian and Kaman shared with each other and all the people around them!
The year of 2005 marks a beautiful time in which this lovely couple began their course in life together! :) Brian & Kaman met during their senior year of college at UC Santa Cruz. Brian had just come back from studying abroad in Ghana for a year, and Kaman was highly involved in student organization at UCSC. They both spent time working at an after school program on campus for elementary school kids. As Brian puts it, “I thought she was really beautiful and loved her sense of humor.”
As they got to know each other more and more outside of work, they eventually started dating! They endured some tough times as Kaman moved to San Diego for graduate school, but because they made the effort to talk so frequently, and visit each other, their relationship grew even stronger! :)
A couple years later, Brian proposed on the beautiful Catalina Island! He planned a surprise trip for him and Kaman, in which she had no idea they were going until the morning of! (SO romantic!! *squeal*) On that beautiful day, they hiked up to the top of the Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Garden, which is an absolutely beautiful view! According to Brian they “could see for miles out over the island and the Pacific Ocean and [they] were all alone.” As they looked over the horizon, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Surprised, she happily said “Yes!”, and they spent the rest of the day celebrating together!
Hidden in the middle of a more industrialized area of San Pedro stood Michael’s Tuscany Room–their beautiful wedding venue! John and I arrived at Michael’s Tuscany Room a couple hours early to scout out the location and see what it was like around the area! The venue reminded me of the secret garden: when you entered it, it was like you were entering into an entirely different, magical place! :)
Take a look at Brian & Kaman’s lovely mint, grey & yellow wedding!
I fell in love with this handmade ink tree! I have always loved this type of “guest book”, and it was absolutely beautifully crafted! :) I also loved their little customized MadLibs form they had each of their guests fill out! What amazed me most was how much help Brian and Kaman had with their wedding decorations! I was informed that an auntie of Kaman did all of the floral arrangements and a lot of her good friends and family helped make the cute paper decorations and center pieces!
Check out the awesome giant heads that were made for Brian and Kaman! Definitely never seen these made before for a wedding, but it was a pretty awesome touch! :)
Upstairs, Brian and Kaman had a super sweet cookies and treats bar! Don’t you just love their Friend’s themed chalkboard? :)
Another family member made these awesome center pieces! It’s a boy and girl Totoro with little lobsters instead of dust balls! :)
Shortly after Brian and Kaman arrived and changed into their wedding best, I snuck Kaman away for their first look, while Brian got help getting his boutonniere on–it’s harder to put on than it seems! We struggled at first trying to get it on, but then we called in the expert! Thankfully, Kaman’s mom was a pro! :)
Kaman headed up the stairs to await Brian’s arrival into the hall! :)
What such a sweet moment! :)
After their first look and some private moments between the two, we headed into their private photos together! :)
Don’t they look like models?!
Check out Brian’s awesome yellow and grey argyle socks, and Kaman’s sweet mint heels! It was so awesome that we found a wall that was mint as well! It matched perfectly with their color scheme! :)
The sides of Michael’s Tuscany Room were lined with beautiful wall climbing plants, which made a perfect backdrop for the two of them! Brian and Kaman were so natural around each other! Each pose was real and their love just oozed between them! :) I had such a great time with the both of them!
After this last shot, we headed back to start the ceremony! Michael’s Tuscany Room has a very different ceremony set up! Check out this grandeur stairs entrance! :)
Check out the super cute flower girl, Bailey, doing her work! :) She was a great flower girl!
As Kaman entered the room, she looked absolutely beautiful! :)
And after the vows were made, the rings were exchanged, and the kiss was done, we welcomed into the world, this beautiful couple newly bonded as one! :)
We then escaped again and took some photos of the bride and groom and their awesome bridal party! :)
So much fun with these ladies! :)
Kaman later told me how she asked her bridesmaids to be by her side! She recreated this picture from the movie, Bridesmaids, and sent it to each of her lovely friends! So of course we had to re-take this photo for them! :)
Brian’s groomsmen were equally as awesome!
John and I had so much fun with this group! :)
As night dawned, we then got to take some photos of Kaman, Brian, and their awesome, fun families together, and headed back into the reception room!
After their fun entrance, they went into their first dance as a married couple! It was such a sweet moment between the two of them that brought a continuous smile to my mouth!
The entire night was a huge celebration! Brian and Kaman danced the night away with their loved ones! :) It was awesome to see how much appreciation and love they had for their family and friends that came to share their special day with them!
Towards the end of the night, Kaman changed into her traditional red gown and we snuck away to take a couple photos in the beautifully lit up streets to end the night!
Congratulations Brian! Congratulations Kaman!! John and I had SUCH a wonderful time being a part of their wedding! The entire day was filled with so much love and happiness, I couldn’t help from smiling the entire night! :)
Happy Friday!! :)
