Once in a while, I need a cupcake break. & Thankfully, I have best friends that understand that need. :)
If you took a look at the texts between me and my friends, you’d see how common it is for us to talk about getting dessert, or sweets. When one of us is craving, we usually help satisfy that craving, and that is exactly what Gail and Sam, and I did.
It all started with a text. It went something like “Sprinkles flavor of the month is Smores! Let’s go to La Jolla!” and it all spiraled down to a picnic date with cupcakes and milk. Sounds awesome right? Well you know those .gifs where they show what you’d THINK it’d look like, and what it looks like in reality? It was honestly one of those.
A picnic by the lake sounds like a great idea, and let me tell you, these photos will show that it was fun (and it really was), but the setting of it all and how it went down was far less than as cutesy as it may seem. There were a ton of ants, a lot of wind attacking us, and then random sprinkles of wetness (we couldn’t tell if they came from our own mouths, or the lake beside us). And then there were flies that decided they wanted to partake in our cupcakes as well, leaves that continuously fell from the trees attacking us and somehow hitting us with their pointy parts only, and then the heat that caused butt sweat–YES. Butt sweat–or maybe the grass was just wet (yeah, let’s just say that).
BUT, despite all the environmental conditions, we still had a blast catching up and eating our delicious cupcakes! :)
Guess which cupcakes we got (well besides s’mores of course!)? :)
Strawberry, Extra Cinnamon, Peanut Butter and S’mores! :) They were SO delicious! The workers at Sprinkles must’ve thought she was going to a party when she ordered all these cupcakes because they gave her a handful of forks (there were maybe 15!) and plates (they gave us like 10!). We took them out for the sake of the pictures! Haha! Little did we know how handy the extra utensils would be because of the circumstances of the picnic! Haha :)
My dear friend Sam, and my other dear friend, Gail!
This is what happens when they decide they want to take solo photos of me. The photo on the right was me following their instructions to the tee. HAHA Trust me when I say, I understand those of you out there that feel awkward in front of the camera! I do my very best to help you feel comfortable in front if it! ;)
At the end of the picnic, as we headed to our cars, we saw an old man sitting by himself just playing his guitar! It was really cute, and Sam couldn’t help but point it out! haha
After our picnic, Gail accompanied to my first newborn baby photoshoot as my assistant! You can view the photoshoot here! :)
Gail was helping me out with testing lighting and locations as we waited for Nicole and Dave to arrive to the second location! BAHA! These were too funny not to post! Look how excited she was to be my prop! Bahaha! There was no posing, or any of the sort! Haha Take a look at these candids! :)
The one on the right is Gail’s “baby” position. HAHA She wanted me to test out how it’d look like if we put baby Lars in a basket on the grass!
Gail pretending to hold baby Lars in her hands.
Okay, so I did pose her in these last ones! I could tell she was getting tired of just standing there. HAHA!
OKAY NOW GO GET YOUR CUPCAKE ON! It’s a great way to start the day! ;)
Happy Tuesday! :)
